Position Title: Summer 2024 Graduate-Level Internship
Location: Remote-based
Reports to: Intern Coordinator
Salary: $25/hour

The Summer Internship program is designed to give graduate students insight into day-to-day operations for an Analyst at rpk GROUP (rpk). Interns play an essential role in project support, helping at every stage of projects, from data collection and analysis to synthesis, visualization, and presentation creation. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and excited to jump into the work on day one.

Interns will follow a structured 10-week program, starting June 3, and ending August 9, 2024. The position is a remote position and working hours typically follow a 9 – 5 schedule with some flexibility.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct and help synthesize primary research (e.g., interviews, focus groups) and secondary research (e.g., using online sources) for clients in support of strategy development, business planning, and other projects
  • Support Analysts and other rpk team members in quantitative data collection, cleaning, analysis, and visualization
  • Draft, revise, edit, and format client communications including memos, interview protocols, worksheets, agendas, project work plans, surveys, presentations, etc.
  • Attend client meetings, take notes, and prepare summaries
  • Participate in ongoing, firm-wide meetings and initiatives, including but not limited to weekly team meetings, and firm-wide professional development
  • Select and complete one capstone project over the course of the internship, crafting a data-informed analysis of a focused topic/issue within the higher education industry.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; graduate degree in progress
  • At least 2 years of work experience outside of formal education
  • Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or healthcare sectors is highly desirable
  • Analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a virtual setting
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Advanced level Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Data visualization experience preferred, particularly experience in Power BI


The hourly rate for this position is $25/hour. The position is part-time and requires dedication of approximately 25 hours per week.
